PROJECT DATE
2003 – Ongoing
SERVICES PROVIDED
Engineering/Landscape Architecture/Urban Planning

Bluesky at Black Mountain is situated east of Kelowna, just minutes up Highway 33. The development has gone through a few name changes over the last 20 years, eventually landing on BlueSky at Black Mountain. The development is a master planned community that is geared towards all generations and CTQ has had the privilege of working on the development for over 19 years now.

Originally, the planned buildout of the development consisted of approximately 640 multi and single-family units. In recent years, Melcor purchased additional land adjacent to Bluesky, which now will add another 200 plus multi and single-family units to the total overall buildout.

CTQ’s design includes approximately 1,800 meters of collector roads 1,500 meters of residential roads and intersection details at Highway 33 and Gallagher Road. Other significant aspects of CTQ’s design includes a storm detention pond as part of the Black Mountain Golf Course, an off-site storm system, plus full urban services that include booster stations and a hilltop reservoir.

All water services are provided by Black Mountain Irrigation District. One of CTQ’s responsibility is to ensure enough of that water supply reaches the site, for this process the design and construction of a reservoir, including a booster pump station was required. Throughout the construction of the development, CTQ has performed Civil inspection services.

CTQ Consultants working closely with Melcor and having a strong sense of their vision, Bluesky at Black Mountain has become an amazing community for people of all walks of life to call home. The development has some of the highest spectacular views in Kelowna, overlooking the Okanagan Valley, reaching as far as Peachland.
