Andrew Zelke, CPA, CA, Partner

Andrew Zelke is the CFO at CTQ since 2012 and is responsible for all administrative aspects of the business. His strategic planning, budgeting and cash flow monitoring are essential in ensuring the success of CTQ.

Anne McTaggart

Anne began at CTQ in 2019 as Administrative Assistant, since she has grown into the role of Accounting Clerk Intermediate. Her strong background in business administration and A/P-A/R come from running her own businesses. Anne’s strengths in multi-tasking and as well as her experience as office manager for more than 10 years, makes her a valuable member of the Administration team.

Byron Douglas, MBCSLA CSLA, Partner

Byron Douglas, CTQ’s CEO, brings over 20 years of international landscape architectural and project management experience to his role overseeing the Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning at CTQ. Byron’s attention to detail, consideration of individual site and client needs, enables him to create memorable, interactive, and lasting landscapes.

Bruce Aitken, P.Eng.

Bruce joined CTQ Consultants in 2022, he has completed a Bachelor of Applied Sciences in Civil Engineering at UBCO and has over 5 years of consulting experience. Bruce gained valuable insight into soils testing, concrete testing, survey, geotechnical monitoring, quality control, and road and bridge design. He has refined his skills in quantity tracking, quality control inspections and management, project scheduling, execution planning, document control, and project management.

Dale Johnston, MBCSLA CSLA

Dale became a part of the CTQ team in 2022. He is has worked on a variety of projects in both the private and public sectors of the US, Canada, and China. Throughout his career, Dale, has worked collaboratively with associated consultants on various projects ranging from residential, commercial developments, waterfront and park developments, environmental remediation, wetland projects, urban design and urban renewal projects.

Dave Cullen, P.Eng., Partner

Dave Cullen joined CTQ in 2006, he is the transportation and land development engineer. His experience prior to joining CTQ included 4 years with the Ministry of Transportation as part of the Highways Bridge Engineering Department, he also held a position as a Bridge Construction Supervisor. Over the past 20 years, Dave has accomplished significant work experience in transportation system planning, design, construction, and project management.

Donovan Klassen, P.Eng.

Donovan joined CTQ in November 2022. He has five years of consulting experience working on various municipal infrastructure projects in the Okanagan, with a focus on water. Donovan has gained valuable experience in Project Planning, Design, Project Management, Contract Administration, and Quality Control. His diverse experience and positive attitude make him a great addition to the CTQ Team.

Glen Power, AScT

Glen is the Information Systems Administrator. He originally trained as a mechanical engineering technologist. Upon joining CTQ in 2005, Glen’s position was civil design technologist. His strong technical knowledge then transformed his role to IT, his responsibilities include support for hardware and software, servers, mobile and telephone systems, networking, and infrastructure maintenance. Glen is responsible for the CTQ team’s various levels of communication, supporting our remote or in office employees.

Haruko Kagami, AScT

Haruko, joined CTQ in 2007 and has been instrumental in the growth, structure, and a team leader of the CAD group plus the development of the processes and templates at CTQ. Aside from Civil design, Haruko has a passion in permaculture and has been involved in several community activities. Haruko’s drive for sustainable agricultural ecosystems has been inspiring to the CTQ team, organizing many informative hands-on projects around CTQ’s own office environment.

Harvey Mann, EIT

Harvey joined CTQ in the spring of 2022 shortly after receiving his engineering degree at UBCO. Harvey is an EIT, currently gaining experience in civil design, construction administration, and construction site inspection. His background experience as team leader and his drive to learn make him another integral part of CTQ’s team.

Irene Tumato, AScT

Irene Tumato began working with CTQ in 2017. She has been involved in civil engineering for over 10 years with experience in civil design, inspections, survey, and project planning specializing in land development, contract administration, and project management. Irene proudly continues to build positive working relationships with clients, contractors, and municipal staff to ensure successful projects.

Jarvis Ronacher, AScT

Jarvis Ronacher has been with CTQ since 2007, at the start he was hired on as a design drafting technician. Through the years, Jarvis has gained experience in civil engineering related projects, currently his role with the CTQ team involves field inspections, survey, project planning, project management, and civil engineering design. He has developed extensive knowledge of by-laws requirements throughout the BC central interior communities and MMCD Construction Standards.

Jesse Padda, EIT

Jesse was inspired by his uncle, who thoroughly enjoyed his career as a professional engineer. Jesse attended both OK College and proceeded to Lakeland University, where he graduated and obtained his degree in Engineering. Jesse joined CTQ in the summer of 2021 as an EIT., his passion for learning enhances him to become a strong well-rounded engineer.

Jim Emery

Jim was born in the local region and spent his formative years here. A lifelong aeronautical modeler and self-taught builder, he loves to spend time building and on anything that flies at work and play. His attention to detail combined experience in construction makes him the perfect fit for the role of Site inspector, he has been with CTQ since 2021.

Jo Krebs, BC (Hons), PG Dip

Although Jo began her career working in Architecture, her move from the UK to Kelowna opened the door for Jo to evolve her design talents and love of plants into the field of Landscape Architecture. Her extensive knowledge in local plant and wildlife habitat enhances her landscape designs. CTQ is proud that Jo joined our Landscape Architecture team in 2021 as landscape designer.

Lucas Thayer, P.Eng.

Lucas became a part of the CTQ team in 2017. Since joining he has designed several storm water management systems, many local land development projects and he has strong knowledge in construction practices and project management. CTQ is proud of the work Lucas is doing and feel fortunate for Lucas to be a part of our Engineering team.

Michael James-Davies

Michael joined CTQ at the beginning of 2022. A graduate from the EDDT program at SAIT, Michael spent his first 4 years of drafting working in Calgary, AB. A few years later, opportunities in Kelowna called. Michael brings six years’ experience to CTQ and is currently a civil designer, his goal is to become a project manager in land development.

Michael De Bonis

In April 2022, Michael joined CTQ. Michael is a civil designer with a strong understanding of various design software programs. He also has strong experience as a service coordinator and is familiar with the aspects of surveying. Michael is keen to apply his skills, gained from college and work, towards his civil design projects.

Renzo Cortes, BLA

Renzo joined CTQ in November 2021, as a junior landscape architecture designer. He is a recent graduate from the University of Guelph, ON with a BA of Landscape Architecture Undergraduate Degree. His relocation to British Columbia from Ontario led him to a position as a Landscape Horticulturist trainee which in turn gave him first-hand experience of the local natural beauty of the Okanagan Valley. Being the middle of 8 kids, Renzo is no stranger to teamwork, adaptability, and dedicated work ethic, which he brings to CTQ Consultants.

Roland Ruesgen, C-Tech

Roland joined CTQ in the Spring of 2008, bringing with him over 25 years of experience in civil design, including topographic survey, retrofit sewer design, roads, subdivision design, and earthworks modeling. Based in the Central Okanagan since 1991, Roland has participated in, and successfully completed a broad range of projects for both private and public sector clients.

Steve Tobler, P.L.Eng., Partner

Steve began his career with CTQ in 2003, hired as a design technician. Since, Steve has gained significant knowledge of all facets of land development and contract administration. Steve’s role has evolved to Project Manager and through his attention to detail, dedication to producing quality work, he is committed to providing the highest level of service to our clients.

Sylvain Cadieux, P.Eng.

Sylvain has worked in the field of Civil Engineering for 29 years. His years of engineering experience have been accrued in the Provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario. During that time, he has been responsible for the design, inspection, and project management of site servicing for numerous projects, including roads, watermains, storm and sanitary sewers, parking and access, and site development. His passion is to assist clients and colleagues to succeed with their projects.

Tobi Friesen, AScT

Tobi joined CTQ in 2003 as the lead designer and was the first employee of CTQ. For the past 25 years, he has gained experience in design and drafting. Tobi’s knowledge of varying design standards within each of the municipal and provincial districts ensures our clients precise and effective project design, including site grading and servicing utilizing the latest AutoCAD Civil 3D software.

Tom Czymoch

Tom joined CTQ in April 2022. He is dedicated and a client focused team player with experience in various levels of civil design. His past experiences and knowledge have provided him the opportunity to hit the ground running with CTQ, to confidently dive into projects and be a contributing factor to the civil design group.

Tomas Cortes, MLA

Tomas joined CTQ in 2021, He attained his BA degree in environmental governance and a master’s in landscape architecture at the University of Guelph, ON. While at University, along with his studies, Tomas was a Teacher’s Assistant for multiple courses from Intermediate Landscape Construction to Recreation-Tourism. His experience in Landscape Construction and his goal to create unique sustainable and diverse shared spaces that prioritize function has also enhanced his position as a Junior Landscape Designer.
