In 2014, CTQ prepared Development Permit Environmental Guidelines, complete with Plot Assessments, on behalf of Wiltse Holdings’ proposed residential development project. The development site occurs within the Municipality of Penticton in BC’s Central Okanagan District. The Project will consist of the construction of 800 lots.
Working with the City of Penticton’s Planning Department, CTQ reviewed existing information relevant to the proposed project and assessed the subject property. Prescriptive recommendations directed both design and construction phase project impacts. Specific environmental procedures for protection of existing natural systems, protection of wildlife habitat, and general sediment control measures were presented. The guidelines worked closely with the City Of Penticton’s development strategy, which recognizes a balanced approach to community development, economic growth and environment accountability. In keeping with the City’s mandate, CTQ’s development plan targeted a tiered approach to protection options.
