|The Village’s OCP was last updated in 2008. Over time, the community has been experiencing impacts resulting from local, regional and global changes, new legislated requirements related to OCP content, changing demographics and housing related pressures. These cumulative impacts have rendered the 2008 OCP outdated. To ensure holistic community health well into the future, the Village secured CTQ Planning to provide guidance in the development of a new Community Plan. The purpose of the Plan is to clearly articulate the path forward in pursuit of economic, environmental and social sustainability.
Successful completion of this project requires a thorough understanding of the 2008 OCP and applicable legislative gaps, current community issues, challenges, opportunities and aspirations for the future. The Village is primarily comprised of single family residential development and has limited available land to accommodate growth needs. The creation of a new OCP for the Village of Montrose requires a multi-disciplinary approach.

The new OCP will include high-level objectives and flexible policy statements that allow the Village to be responsive to changing community contexts, while protecting and promoting community values.
