Ariva Resort is a multiphase development which provides premium lakeview residences proposed to be build in West Kelowna, British Columbia. It provides a well-balanced environment of private outdoor living spaces and the ability to socialize within the community with resident lounges and swimming pools. CTQ completed the onsite and offsite designs for this development. These designs included the stormwater management plan and the servicing plan for the property.
Ariva Resort has been designed as resort style living and is scheduled to be built in multiple phases. The proposed development currently has five multi-storey buildings situated on the property. CTQ was approached to complete the onsite and offsite design. To create an innovative design for the onsite servicing plan, CTQ worked along side with local architects, mechanical and electrical engineers. The onsite servicing plan includes the design of the sanitary system, water system, stormwater management system, and the road works.
CTQ excels in Storm Water Management plans demonstrating proficiency in complex management of site layout and design. This unique stormwater management system straddles two discharge zones, resulting in a portion of the stormwater stored on site, while the remainder is released to the offsite storm main. With a partial discharge of stormwater designed to be released to the nearby Keefe Creek, the remainder will be stored in 2.0 m corrugated steel storage containers.
An interesting design obstacle that was encountered was the fact there are some areas on the storm network which are located below the elevations at which the holding tanks are. These areas had to then be tied to the storm network to be released safely without having the issue of water backing up in the lower inlets.
Though the resort is being completed in multiple phases, the onsite and offsite construction will be completed simultaneously.
Construction is set to beginning in Fall of 2020. For more information about this development, please visit ArivaKelowna.ca
