CTQ was chosen by the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary to undertake a feasibility study to develop a new Community Centre at the Big White Ski Resort near Kelowna, BC. With the constant growth of this mountain resort, including a permanent year round population, there has been a growing interest to build a Community Centre that would satisfy local and visitor needs. CTQ will lead a team of architects, planners and cost consultants to determine uses, scope and size and a cost for the new facility. The intent is to define a project and associated cost that will be taken to public referendum in the Fall of 2017. Critical aspects of CTQ’s role will include an extensive pubic consultation program, leading a design charrette and preparing reports to provide the Regional District the opportunity to decide to proceed or not. CTQ will work closely with an Advisory Committee of stakeholders including the Big White Ski Resort Corporation, businesses, clubs, residential strata’s and the Regional District.
