In 2007 the partners at CTQ agreed to support UBCO students in their pursuits of Engineering & Planning education. Since UBCO had just begun offering these disciplines, the decision was made to award 2 annual scholarships to deserving 1st & 3rd year engineering students. The process has been very rewarding since then for both student recipients and the team at CTQ. CTQ partners were pleased that students would be able to focus more on their studies and less on their financial pressures as well as benefit from opportunities for students to have a relationship with companies in the industry such as CTQ Consultants.

Since 2003, CTQ has grown from one home office in Kelowna, to welcoming a second office in Kamloops. This enables CTQ to participate in two main interior regions as well as to add more services to their portfolio; meeting a variety of clients needs. The addition of professional services such as Forestry, Mining, Natural Resource Management and First Nations Initiatives complements the current services and make CTQ unique in the industry.

Opportunities for students to take part in summer employment and work experiences as well as longer term careers with CTQ have become likely for local UBCO engineering and planning students.

The team at CTQ believes helping students achieve their educational goals benefits the entire industry. These scholarships are the first and largest contributed by an industry partner specifically for engineering students. One first year student of Engineering and one 3rd year civil Engineering have each received $5,000.00 towards their studies at UBCO since the creation during the school year of 2007.
